Does nature attract your reservation? the commercial potential of biophilic hotel design in Hawaii
Working on progress research in D.Arch
Abstract: Tourism is one of the pillar industries in Hawaii, and hotels are an essential part of the tourism process. However, less research has been conducted on the impact of pro-biological elements in hotel spaces on customer stress, mood, and willingness to spend. Worldwide, consumers are increasingly relying on online review platforms as the primary channel for reservations. Therefore, this study uses big data to collect review data of over 10,000 hotels through online booking platforms such as booking, and analyzes the evaluations from real stores and customers through professional ratings to establish a correlation model between pro-biological design and hotel business potential, and corrects deviations through questionnaires and controlled experiments. The findings of the study can guide the subsequent hotel design to create a better urban commercial space.
