The project is developed in a Tongji design studio with Aedas, the site is located in a historic area on the north bank of Suzhou River in Shanghai, with 3 restored buildings built in the 1930s. Our task is to build a new urban complex with an office, gallery, and subway entrance, Through preliminary investigation, we found the surrounding residents have a strong desire for green space. Therefore, we built this complex into a three-dimensional urban park, reconnecting the residences with greenery and nature.

Our primary objective is to create equitable and inclusive public spaces through the design of ecological spaces. These ecological areas serve as connective elements, fostering interaction with the surrounding environments. Concurrently, in the organization of these ecological spaces, we primarily focus on 'pollinators' as the core component. This approach aims to attract native fauna, providing them with resting and foraging habitats, thereby achieving a harmonious coexistence between humans and animals. It also strengthens the ecological chain in the urban core, cultivating a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.
